[Photo courtesy of alicepopkorn]I found out about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs the other day and it gave me some interesting thoughts to chew on. This diagram has been updated from his original one which goes on to state that man/woman cannot achieve the ultimate goal of life which is claimed to be self-fulfillment or transcendance (helping others to achieve self-fulfillment) without other needs being met first. I found this quite interesting given the events that have overtaken me in 2008. Personal experience has led to the exact opposite in my case. Many of those needs had to be taken away before I actively pursued a meaningful path, a path of [Read on...]

The Opensource Revolution is in full force.. and there will be no stopping it. For a time, opensource solutions weren’t up to the standard of their cost-based and licensed alternatives and this blogger thought that they wouldn’t catch up.. but with the creation of this blog that realisation has dawned
And what a great realisation it is! Let’s have a look at some of the top players:

[Photo courtesy of pardeshi]I believe very strongly in the idea of every human being as an expression of God. I am not Christian incidentally, I just use that as one reference for my lack of knowledge of other religions. Going to change!
Anyway, given that about 100 billion people have lived on earth since the beginning of time and that each and every one of them is/was unique.. I’d say there’s a lot to learn, wouldn’t you? Ok, although I’m fascinated by thoughts on the nature of the universe I thought I’d make my first post on web matters. And since I absolutely love learning new things I turn to Google a lot to help me find those new things. But I’m growing more and more frustrated by the amount of crap that’s turning up on the first page of searches. There seems to be a nasty trend of spammers deviously plastering Google Ads all over their front pages.
Now I’m not against online advertising.. it has it’s place, and I would like to place my own Google Ad on this blog at some point, but I am starting to entertain thoughts about using another search engine [Read on...]

[Photo courtesy of Paulo Brandão]Universal intelligence is magically flowing through you at this very moment. Most probably (unless you’re a Computer Science Major or have an affinity with tinkering inside the box) you don’t know the mechanics of how computers work.. or how the internet works for that matter. All you know is, it works and that you know how to use it. Isn’t it the same with the human body? I’ve never seen inside my chest.. yet some force has woven my internal organs in a way that they collaborate with each other. The amount of control I have over my body is in fact fairly limited.
What’s the point here? I’m trying to push the boundaries of my own knowledge on the subject of existance. I believe wholeheartedly that life is what you make of it.. but life also happens when you make other plans no?
My heart beats on it’s own, pumps blood to my vital organs and extremities and co-ordinates with a myriad other systems on its own. I do not tell it to beat or where to send [Read on...]
