Universal Intelligence

Universal intelligence is magically flowing through you at this very moment. Most probably (unless you’re a Computer Science Major or have an affinity with tinkering inside the box) you don’t know the mechanics of how computers work.. or how the internet works for that matter. All you know is, it works and that you know how to use it. Isn’t it the same with the human body? I’ve never seen inside my chest.. yet some force has woven my internal organs in a way that they collaborate with each other. The amount of control I have over my body is in fact fairly limited.

What’s the point here? I’m trying to push the boundaries of my own knowledge on the subject of existance. I believe wholeheartedly that life is what you make of it.. but life also happens when you make other plans no? :)

My heart beats on it’s own, pumps blood to my vital organs and extremities and co-ordinates with a myriad other systems on its own. I do not tell it to beat or where to send blood or to expand or contract.. now do I? No, it does it through universal intelligence.. the same intelligence that operates through all other human and non-human beings on the planet. If you give that just a little thought then hopefully you’ll appreciate the admission of a higher power at work.. God, Allah, Source, Buddha.. call it what you will, labels are meaningless.

By the same token, have you ever seen a dead body? (particularly at a funeral) A pale shell remains where once there was colour and vibrance. Thinking these thoughts indicates two things to me:

  1. The essence of a human being, the Spirit, is something separate from the body. Steve Pavlina writes an excellent article on physical vs non-physical reality. A spiritual being who wants to experience a human reality can do so, but at the cost of being tied down to physical matter ie. your body.
  2. That essence has moved on at death, the body remains.. but it’s past its use-by-date :) It no longer functions without the essence

I will go on to say, perhaps controversially then, that life is eternal. Death is a misnomer for a different state of reality.. just as dreaming (while sleeping) is to being awake. How often have you woken up thinking your dream was real? Is it really that far-fetched to think that after “death” we will awaken ourselves to a new state of reality? The next adventure? I’d like to think so..
