Meditation: Being vs Doing/Having/Thinking

06:00am.. the alarm clock tolls and wakey-wakeyness beckons. Of course it’s winter and your latitude on the globe says that it won’t really be light outside till about 08:00, but that doesn’t excuse you from work though, does it? The routine is set: shower, dress, eat, travel, work, eat, work, travel, eat, watch telly.. “hmm I have an hour before I’d like to hit the sack.. perhaps I’ll just watch some more telly”..sleep. Then, repeat 5x out of 7, perhaps 6 if you’re really dedicated to your work.

The Art of Life: Detachment and Engagement

2008.. the year that shifted the focus of the journey from an outer one to an inner one. When you lose all meaning in life, when you lose your very self.. you are forced to take such a journey. This is the very journey we all in fact are taking this very second. But for most of us, such a journey is not initiated until the mask of security is unveiled.. because in reality there is NO security.

And yet the British government (and well probably every other government in the world) continue pushing the notion of security on the public. Secure banks, secure homes and secure jobs. Hmm.. anybody else see a problem here? I bet you there are hundreds of people willing to come forward and tell of how these things are being taken away from them.

This is simply put down to an incorrect perception of reality. Everybody’s heard the phrase, “the only constant is change” and um since this is much closer to the laws of our universe I think it’s about time we heeded it. Life Mastery = Self Mastery

I found out about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs the other day and it gave me some interesting thoughts to chew on. This diagram has been updated from his original one which goes on to state that man/woman cannot achieve the ultimate goal of life which is claimed to be self-fulfillment or transcendance (helping others to achieve self-fulfillment) without other needs being met first. I found this quite interesting given the events that have overtaken me in 2008. Personal experience has led to the exact opposite in my case. One Earth, All Teachers

I believe very strongly in the idea of every human being as an expression of God. I am not Christian incidentally, I just use that as one reference for my lack of knowledge of other religions. Going to change!

Anyway, given that about 100 billion people have lived on earth since the beginning of time and that each and every one of them is/was unique.. I’d say there’s a lot to learn, wouldn’t you? And clearly our individuality is expressed in many ways.. physical appearance, emotions and our actions played out through our thoughts. [Read on...]

Universal Intelligence

Universal intelligence is magically flowing through you at this very moment. Most probably (unless you’re a Computer Science Major or have an affinity with tinkering inside the box) you don’t know the mechanics of how computers work.. or how the internet works for that matter. All you know is, it works and that you know how to use it. Isn’t it the same with the human body? I’ve never seen inside my chest.. yet some force has woven my internal organs in a way that they collaborate with each other. The amount of control I have over my body is in fact fairly limited. 

What’s the point here? I’m trying to push the boundaries of my own knowledge on the subject of existance. I believe wholeheartedly that life is what you make of it.. but life also happens when you make other plans no?

My heart beats on it’s own, pumps blood to my vital organs and extremities and co-ordinates with a myriad other systems on its own. I do not tell it to beat or where to send [Read on...]
